Attorney-General files opposition to application to probe ‘his conduct’

The Attorney-General Godfred Dame opposed Dr. Ato Forson's application for a High Court probe into Dame's conduct in an ongoing trial involving financial loss to the state.

Forson, the first accused in the ambulance procurement case, alleges Dame tried to recruit the third accused, Richard Jakpa, to aid Forson's prosecution. Forson seeks an inquiry, mistrial, and stay of proceedings.

Dame dismissed the application as baseless and a ploy to evade prosecution. He argued it lacked legal grounds and claimed the trial's integrity remains intact, with all parties given fair opportunities in court.
