The town of Bawku in the Upper East Region remains in turmoil as violent clashes escalate despite a government-imposed curfew.
The unrest follows the controversial return of Seidu Abagre, enskinned as Bawku Naba in February 2023.
In response, the Interior Ministry imposed a 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. curfew, effective October 28, citing his presence as a threat to public safety.
However, the violence persists, with three more deaths and several houses burned this week, raising the death toll in the conflict to 26.
JoyNews reports that armed groups continue attacks, leaving schools and businesses shuttered.
Residents remain indoors, fearing the ongoing violence.
