Another person has been killed in Bawku amid escalating violence, raising the death toll to 26 since the conflict resurfaced in late October 2024.
Despite a strict 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. curfew, gunmen continue to defy restrictions, launching attacks that have forced schools and businesses to close.
On November 12, clashes in Bawku's Daduri suburb led to two deaths, several injuries, and two homes set ablaze.
The recent violence has driven residents to flee, with military-escorted buses transporting many to Bolgatanga.
Tensions spiked after the return of rival chief Alhaji Seidu Abagre from exile and recent ambushes targeting travelers.
