Richard Jakpa, the third accused in the ongoing Ambulance case, has claimed that Attorney General Godfred Dame told him he was pressured by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to prosecute Ato Forson.
Jakpa made this disclosure in a new application seeking to strike out charges against him. During cross-examination, Jakpa revealed that the Attorney General had contacted him at unusual times to implicate Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, who is on trial for allegedly procuring defective ambulances.
Jakpa’s legal team has requested the charges be dismissed or the proceedings suspended.
