I didn’t receive 50% of money paid under ambulance contract – Jakpa

Businessman Richard Jakpa, the third accused in the ongoing ambulance procurement trial, has denied claims of receiving 50% of the €2.3 million paid under the ambulance contract.

He refuted the Attorney-General's allegations during cross-examination on July 2, stating he received no such amount.

The Attorney-General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, had claimed Jakpa received half the total sum, leading to the delivery of substandard ambulances.

Jakpa emphasized that the contract underwent extensive governmental approval processes since 2010, including evaluations by the Cabinet, Parliament's Health Committee, and the Public Procurement Authority, ensuring value for money and compliance with statutory requirements.
