John Dramani Mahama, the NDC’s presidential candidate, has pledged to restart the cocoa roads project if he wins the December 2024 elections.
Speaking at a rally in Brakwa, Central Region, Mahama criticized the Akufo-Addo government for abandoning the initiative he began during his previous term, leaving roads in cocoa-growing areas in poor condition. He accused the government of halting the project for political reasons and failing to release an audit report on it.
Mahama promised that a future NDC government would prioritize the completion of these vital roads to support cocoa farmers and boost the economy.
