First Lady of the United States, Mrs Melania Trump has today donated some items to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital as part of some activities to mark her visit to Ghana.
The items, presented to some nursing mothers and babies, are to promote her child welfare agenda announced in August, this year.

Mrs Melania Trump also donated a photo therapy machine to the hospital,which will be used to treat jaundice.
The visit by Mrs Trump will also see her make similar stops in Malawi, Kenya and Egypt.
Present at the Kotoka International Airport to receive the US First Lady was Ghana's first Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, Minister for Foreign Affairs Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Minister for Gender Cynthia Morrison, Deputy Minister for Aviation, Kwabena Okyere Darko, among others.
Background
Mrs Trump announced her tour of Africa at a reception for spouses of world leaders, held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, in New York.
The visit is being organised in partnership with USAID and will involve Ghana and three other countries, which she has described as ‘four beautiful and very different countries in Africa’.
The tour which is in line with her "Be Best" initiative also focuses on gender equality, with an emphasis on education as tool to combat inequality.
On March 20, Mrs Trump met with top executives of technology companies including Amazon, Google, Twitter, Snap and Facebook, to discuss the issue and how it affects children.
The U.S. First Lady is also involved in various charities, including Martha Graham Dance Company, the Boys Club of New York, the American Red Cross, Make a Wish Foundation and the Police Athletic League.
