SSNIT Director General Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo has refuted claims by former NPP National Chairman Freddy Blay that SSNIT rejected a $200 million bid from his son's company, Spartan Ives, for a 60% stake in SSNIT hotels.
Osafo-Maafo clarified that Spartan Ives did not pass the initial evaluation stage, and its financial proposal was never opened or assessed due to a weak technical proposal scoring below 50%.
Blay had claimed his son's bid was part of a competitive process involving multiple companies.
Meanwhile, SSNIT has halted negotiations to sell a 60% stake to Rock City Hotel following a directive from the NPRA.
