Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has dismissed claims of a constitutional crisis in Ghana, affirming that Parliament remains active despite recent adjournments due to quorum issues.
Speaking on November 6, he assured Ghanaians that the democratic system, as outlined in the 1992 Constitution, is functioning as intended, with mechanisms in place to resolve any disagreements.
His remarks follow concerns raised by Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, who criticized delays in legal proceedings over a vacant parliamentary seat.
Bagbin emphasized that democracy relies on the rule of law, urging citizens to trust in the system’s processes for resolution.
