Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer, has promised to tackle Ghana's housing deficit by constructing affordable housing units in every district.
Speaking at a campaign event in Drobonso, he emphasized that this initiative would not only provide accommodation but also create jobs for artisans, laborers, and contractors.
With a housing deficit of over 1.8 million units, Dr. Bawumia’s plan includes partnerships with the private sector and local assemblies. The project aims to serve low-to-middle-income earners and boost local economies, including industries like cement and steel.
Meanwhile, the government is progressing with 609 new homes for public servants, focusing on improving housing for essential workers in underserved areas.
