Businessman Richard Jakpa, the third accused in the ambulance procurement trial, has defended his cousin, Justice Yonny Kulendi, for using his influence to secure Jakpa’s release after his arrest.
Jakpa claimed Kulendi was seeking justice and fairness.
Jakpa faced the harshest bail conditions among the accused, with a bond of 5 million cedis and three sureties. Despite meeting these conditions, Jakpa alleged that investigators used administrative tactics to detain him.
Kulendi's intervention with the Attorney General ensured Jakpa's bail conditions were accepted, leading to his release.
