Alexander Afenyo-Markin, leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) caucus, has criticized Speaker Alban Bagbin’s handling of Parliament’s seating arrangements.
Afenyo-Markin claims Bagbin allowed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) caucus to occupy the majority side, despite the NPP’s position as the rightful majority.
During a media briefing, Afenyo-Markin questioned why Bagbin permitted what he termed “chaos” by not directing the NDC to sit on the minority side, as agreed in discussions with the Council of State and Peace Council.
Bagbin’s recent adjournment of Parliament due to a lack of quorum followed the NPP MPs’ absence, protesting the NDC’s occupation of majority seats.
