Former NPP Chairman for Fomena, Akwasi Nti, has downplayed the impact of Alan Kyerematen’s departure from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), dismissing his ability to sway voters in the Ashanti Region or nationally.
Speaking in a heated interview, Nti criticized Kyerematen’s tenure as Trade Minister, accusing him of failing to support local businesses and allowing foreign traders to dominate.
Nti suggested Kyerematen’s new Movement for Change aims to weaken the NPP by forcing a runoff in the 2024 elections but expressed confidence in the party’s stronghold in the Ashanti Region.
“Alan’s exit is no threat,” Nti declared, emphasizing the region’s loyalty to the NPP due to its track record in development and job creation.
