I always thank God for letting NPP win 2016 elections – Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has revealed he is grateful that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) won the 2016 general election, describing their time in government as a learning moment for Ghanaians.

Mahama explained that the NPP's eight-year administration under President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has proven disappointing, with numerous unfulfilled promises.

He suggested that if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had retained power in 2016, many Ghanaians would have assumed the NPP could have performed better.

"Now, Ghanaians can compare the governance of the NDC and NPP," Mahama said. "The NPP makes noise, yet they have failed to deliver on their promises. I thank God for showing everyone the reality."

He urged Ghanaians to reconsider the leadership direction ahead of the 2024 elections.
