NDC will counter alleged election rigging in Ashanti Region – Richard Jakpa

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has vowed to tackle what it claims are systematic election malpractices in the Ashanti Region, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) stronghold.

NDC's Richard Jakpa accused the ruling party of inflating voter turnout figures in previous elections, citing alleged manipulation of biometric systems, sidelining of polling agents, and electoral official collusion.

Jakpa emphasized the NDC’s preparations, including deploying vigilant polling agents and gathering intelligence to ensure fair elections. He dismissed the NPP's 85% voter turnout target as unrealistic, promising to reduce it to 50%-60%.

The NDC plans to resolve disputes at polling stations to avoid court battles, signaling a shift in its strategy for the December 7th elections.
