Former Ghana President John Agyekum Kufuor has urged Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin to show strong leadership amid a tense standoff over majority seating in Parliament.
Kufuor expressed disappointment, calling the situation “embarrassing” and warning that it could tarnish Bagbin’s legacy.
The conflict began after the Supreme Court stayed Bagbin's ruling that declared four parliamentary seats vacant, shifting the balance in favor of the NDC.
NDC MPs now claim majority status, occupying seats traditionally held by the NPP, whose members have boycotted sessions to avoid confrontation.
Kufuor urged Bagbin to restore stability in the House.
