There is no order against The Speaker – Thaddeus Sory

Private legal practitioner Thaddeus Sory has clarified the Supreme Court's decision in the ‘Vacant Seats’ case, asserting that no order compels Speaker Alban Bagbin to recognize certain MPs in Parliament.

He explained that the plaintiff’s case lacked grounds for the court’s initial order, as it did not reflect changes in circumstances.

While Justices Darko Asare and Asiedu disagreed with Speaker Bagbin's interpretation of constitutional provisions, they stopped short of declaring his decision null and void.

Sory emphasized that the court’s stay of execution on the Speaker’s ruling is no longer in effect, affirming that no legal directive currently binds the Speaker’s actions.
