Atta-Akyea: Supreme Court not an extension of Jubilee House

Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Samuel Atta-Akyea, has rejected claims that the Supreme Court is an extension of the Jubilee House.

He called these allegations “misguided” and argued that critics lack an understanding of the judiciary’s role.

Atta-Akyea, speaking on The Big Issue on Channel One TV, praised the Supreme Court for its integrity, pointing out the independence of its judges. He emphasized that two justices, Lovelace Johnson and Amadu Tanko, demonstrated the Court’s impartiality by thinking differently.

This follows the Court’s November 12 decision to overturn Speaker Alban Bagbin’s declaration of four parliamentary seats as vacant, a ruling that highlighted differing views on the Court’s jurisdiction.
