This is the “most useless” parliament Ghana has ever had – Kofi Koranteng

Independent presidential candidate Kofi Koranteng has criticized Ghana's 8th Parliament, calling it the "most useless" in the nation's history.

Koranteng argues that Parliament has failed to fulfill its duty to serve the Ghanaian public, lacking actions that positively impact citizens' lives. He questioned the tangible benefits Parliament has provided, claiming it has not positioned itself to meet its mandate.

Koranteng's remarks come in the context of the Supreme Court’s recent ruling, which overturned Speaker Alban Bagbin's declaration of four parliamentary seats as vacant after the MPs announced plans to run as independents.

The court, in a 5-2 decision, upheld a challenge by Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, ruling the Speaker's declaration unconstitutional.
