Lawyers for Dr. Amanda Odoi have justified seeking an interlocutory injunction to prevent Parliament from transmitting the anti-gay bill to the President.

Lead counsel, Ernest Arkoh, argues the bill, as a private member's bill, imposes a charge on public funds, violating Article 108 of the 1992 constitution.

Arkoh claims the bill should be introduced by the President. He emphasized that the bill's enactment would cause irreparable harm to the LGBTQ community.

Dr. Odoi and media personality Richard Sky challenge the bill’s constitutionality, seeking to stop its transmission for presidential assent.
