Supreme Court to deliver judgment on anti-LGBTQI case December 18

The Supreme Court has scheduled December 18, 2024, to deliver its judgment on the constitutional challenge against the Anti-LGBTQI+ Bill, filed by Richard Dela Sky.

The case, pending since May 2024, has faced criticism for delays, with some accusing the Chief Justice of holding up the resolution.

The Judicial Service explained the delay was due to the parties' failure to submit required documents.

The Speaker of Parliament and Attorney General were granted time to file their defenses.

At a recent hearing, the court allowed amendments to the applicant’s case and gave defendants time to respond before adjourning the matter.
