Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame has contended that Parliament should have rejected the anti-LGBTQ bill, as it imposes charges on public funds, violating Article 108 of the Constitution.
He argued this point during a Supreme Court hearing, backing injunction requests from Dr. Amanda Odoi and Richard Dela Sky to halt the bill’s progression.
Sky's suit challenges the bill's constitutionality, citing multiple violations, while Odoi seeks to prevent its transmission to President Akufo-Addo.
The Supreme Court will rule on these cases on July 17.
